Miss Jenn's Bio
Greetings!
My name is Jennifer Susicke, and I am one of the preschool teachers in the Kinnelon Preschool Program. I am an experienced and enthusiastic Preschool Teacher with hands-on experience in providing a safe, happy, and enriching learning environment for children aged 3-6 years. My skills and qualities have been developed both through my previous teaching experience as well as my graduate studies at Montclair State University in the areas of Early Childhood Elementary Education and Special Education. I am dually certified Preschool through Third Grade and Teacher of Students with Disabilities, and am eager to provide your child with a risk-free, social, and academically engaging learning environment.
“Brilliance is a child’s passion.” These words, spoken by author Jacqueline Woodson at an institute I recently attended, ring true in my ears as a reminder that children learn best when they are interested in what they are learning. Working in Early Childhood Education over the past 10 years, I have honed the skills necessary to reaching young minds through a mixture of emergent curriculum and semi-structured math and language arts lessons utilizing The Creative Curriculum for Preschool. I enjoy taking a part in preparing students for Kindergarten, as the early years of school remain the most crucial for the social and emotional development of children.
Additionally, I have seen firsthand how a school building full of professionals join together to benefit each and every child. I am excited to be a part of that collaborative work, and hope that you as a parent will become a part of the school community for your child.
