Mr. deWaal is excited to be a part of the Kinnelon School District. Prior to entering the education profession, Mr. deWaal was a broadcast media production professional. His career as a broadcast professional, provided opportunity for him to gain industry experience in California and New York City.
With an evolving interest toward visual media and broadcast production, Mr. deWaal aims to bring his industry experiences into the classroom and looks forward to instruction opportunities with students while encouraging, motivating and enhancing students digital communication skills and digital literacy... "Allowing students to develop their voice, helping students achieve their goals and providing an opportunity for their growth is a very rewarding experience; my goal is simple, each day is different, but, it is another day for us to do our best. I like to extract from my own professional experiences and that relates well in this content area, simulating career readiness and enhancing 21st century skills, that provides unique and authentic learning opportunities for the students."
Mr. deWaal is a proud graduate from Saint John’s University in New York City, where he earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Television/ Film Production and Communication Studies. Mr. deWaal also holds a CE for Teacher of Audio/ Visual Broadcast Production Technology.
