Welcome Back to School!!
I hope you are as excited as I am and over this year you make many new friends, challenge yourself to continue growing as a learner.
Let me give you a brief introduction since many of you may not know who I am. I am Coach Diontae "DJ" Cannon and this will be my Third year as a physical education teacher. This will also be my sixth-year coaching basketball and my first at Amite High School. I cannot wait to meet all of you! Beyond my passion for kids and learning, I am a New Orleans Pelicans fanatic, a lifelong believer in Disney magic, and an avid gamer. I have lived in Tangipahoa parish for all of my life and am excited to be part of the Warrior Nation.
This year will be different than any other year given the circumstances due to COVID 19. You will have responsibilities unique to taking an online class. While you are going to be a high school student, the challenges of not being physically in a classroom will persist. Academically, you will learn about your physical health and unique lifelong activities that can contribute to physical fitness Throughout all of this, you will use technology as a tool to enhance your learning. It will be a fantastic year!
