My name is Kaitlyn Resavy and I am incredibly excited to be one of the sixth grade teachers at Ridgway for the 2018-2019 school year! I look forward to working with the sixth graders as they learn about math and social studies.
I graduated from Rider University in 2015 with majors in elementary education and integrated sciences and math and minors in math, middle school math and special education. Through Rider University I have been given numerous placements in many different classrooms. I spent one school year as a long term substitute teaching K-2 computer technologies at B. Bernice Young School in Burlington and 2 years teaching middle school math and computers. I look forward to this incoming class and am excited for the many things they will bring.
I am passionate about working with children; therefore, I try to take as many opportunities as I can to work with children. Over the summer I work at a summer theater camp called Moorestown Theater Company where children are given two or three weeks to work on and perform a show.
When I am not teaching I enjoy reading and performing. I perform in shows with my community theater company. My favorite roles that I have had recently were Ariel in The Little Mermaid and Mary Poppins in Mary Poppins. When I am not onstage I am always helping backstage. I help build sets and gather props. I also work very closely with the costume department sewing and creating costumes. I have sewn for over 10 years now and really enjoy creating costumes for actors to wear in the different shows.
If you need to contact me, the best way to reach me is by email at email@example.com or by leaving a message on voicemail at (609) 871-3434 ext. 5125.
I cannot wait to begin this year and hope to both inspire and challenge the children I will be working with!
