Reasons why you and your family should not delay and get the FLU shot today!

  1. Getting a Flu shot will decrease the number of hospitalizations.
  2. The Flu and Covid-19 both affect the lungs and having the Flu and Covid too can cause more damage to your lungs than you bargained for.
  3. Getting a Flu shot contributes to the wider public health effort because it not only protects you, it also protects those around you so the more people getting vaccinated, the lower the cases of Flu.
  4. Getting the Flu puts your family and neighbors at risk especially those who are vulnerable like the elderly, pregnant, children and those who are immune compromised.
  5. The Flu vaccine is safe and effective and has been approved by the CDC and FDA.
  6. The Flu kills 30,000-60,000 Americans yearly, according to epidemiologist George Rutherford, MD, UCSF.
  7. Even if you get the Flu after receiving the Flu shot, your case will be less serious.
  8. Getting the Flu shot will decrease the demand for Flu tests.
  9. Getting the Flu shot will reduce the likelihood of Flu testing shortages.

You may obtain your Flu shot at the following locations:

  1. Healthcare Providers office (going to the doctor’s office you are much less at risk than going to the supermarket or crowded location)
  2. Local CVS Minute Clinic
  3. Local Urgent Care
  4. Gloucester County Health Department (if you are without insurance they will administer free of charge)
  5. If your healthcare provider is out of the Flu shot serum, ask for a script to take to the pharmacy to have filled then return to the healthcare provider’s office to have the Flu shot administered.
