Homework Policy:
Homework is given regularly. In math, constant practice is necessary. I do expect each and every problem to be attempted. I want the student to think about each problem and how the solution should be found. If a student does not know how to solve a problem, he or she should write down a few sentences as to “how” the problem is different than those in his or her notes and what specifics lead him/her to not being able to solve it. “I didn’t know how to do it” or “this wasn’t like the problems in class” will not be a sufficient answer. I want the student to think about the problem in detail so that when I solve the problem in class the following day, he/she will understand the problem not just copy down an answer.
Missed Work/Make-up Policy
All work must be completed and cannot be more than one week late in completion. Any problems completing work need to be discussed with the teacher before the end of the week.
Rules for Student Behavior
1. Respect others and their property at all times.
2. Obey all school and classroom procedures.
3. Complete all assignments on time.
Communication with Parents
At the beginning of the year, a syllabus will be sent home with each student. Parents are encouraged to contact me at any time concerning their child’s progress. I do my best to make myself available to all parents and students.
When the need arises, a message or note for the parent will be written to parent(s). . Phone calls home will be made on an individual basis.
I can also be contacted by email at [email protected].
