Keep Calm And Put Your EARS On
Welcome to the 2018-2019 School Year
Mrs. Jennifer Gaines
4th and 5th Grade Behavior Intensive
Dear Parents and Guardians,
I would like to take the opportunity to introduce myself. My name is Jennifer Gaines. This will be my third year teaching. I taught at Tortuga Preserve Elementary in a 2nd to 5th grade Social Functioning class. I graduated from F.G.C.U in. May 2016. Previously, I completed my two internships in an Instructional Support classroom at Skyline Elementary and at North Fort Myers High School in Life skills.
Before interning, I worked for the Lee County School District as a substitute teacher for 10 years before starting college full-time a few years ago. In those 10 years, I worked with students from Pre-K to fifth grade, including students with special needs. I started at Sunshine as a substitute where I found my love for teaching students.
I cannot wait to learn about all of the students, but before I do I would like to share a few things about myself. I have been married for 23 years. My husband and I have three sons. Our oldest, James, just graduated from Vet Tech School and moved to Texas. He is begining veternarian school. Our middle son, Johnathan moved to Pensylvainia where he is going to school and just had his first child. Ari is our first grandchild, she is also the first girl in the family. Our youmgest, Jacob is starting school at FSW. When time permits, we enjoy going to the beach, playing games, or just watching a movie together.
In my free time, I help facilitate and run a non-profit exotic bird rescue. At home, we have had an assortment of animals, even a goat and a pot-bellied pig. We currently share our home with a Pekingese. We really LOVE our animals.
Welcome to our class! We have been blessed to have _________________this school year.. This website has been created to help you and your child with what is going on in the classroom and our school. It is full of information and will be updated frequently.
Here’s to a great year!

ANYTHING IS POSSIBLE WHEN YOU WORK TOGETHER !
"There needs to be a lot more emphasis on what a child can do instead of what he cannot do."
-Dr. Temple Grandin
You can teach a student a lesson for a day, but if you can teach
him to learn by creating curiosity, he will continue the learning
process as long as he lives.
-Clay P. Bedford
No act of kindness, no matter how small , is ever wasted.
