I began my teaching career in the Philadelphia School District after graduating from Temple University with a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education in 2001. In addition, I have a Master's of Education in School Counseling from Wilmington University.
Over the last seventeen years as a teacher, I have taught 4th, 5th, and 6th grade and almost every subject. During the last twelve years, I focused mainly on English and Language Arts. In recent years, I won Teacher of the Year, mentored new teachers, designed curriculum, facilitated professional development, and piloted new programs. My greatest strength is classroom management. I value building strong relationships with my students and their families. I am looking forward to getting to know your family this year.
On a personal note, I grew up in Philadelphia, but I currently live in Woodstown. I live with my husband, my fifteen year old son, Dominic, a delightfully evil cat named Primrose, a bearded dragon named Dart, and a very chubby bulldog named Brutus. I am an avid reader. One of my many goals is to spread my obsession of reading to ALL of my students. I want your children to remember me with a smile on my face, handing them the book that will have a part in shaping who they become in the future.
