Schools can only highly serve us when they aim not to drill, but to create; when they gather from far every ray of various genius to their hospitable halls, and by the concentrated fires, set the hearts of their youth on flame.
- Ralph Waldo Emerson
We are committed to providing the students in Bernards Township with the highest quality of education possible so that they will be ready to meet the challenges of the twenty-first century. To prepare students for the global economy in which they will live, the district goals this year include expanding the district's technological resources, the improvement of instruction through relevant assessment, and the differentiation of instruction to address the needs of all students. Our character education initiative involves understanding the traits of trustworthiness, respect, responsibility, fairness, caring and citizenship, and applying these traits to actions in daily life. The social pressures for academic achievement and competition for extrinsic rewards create a great deal of stress in the minds of our children. They need to talk and they need to know that we are listening.
The Bernards Township schools are an intrinsic piece of the fabric of our community. If you have ideas on improvement or suggestions for expanding opportunity for our students, we welcome your interest.
