Week 7 (Week of 5/4/20)

 

  • In Reading, all assignments will be accessed through One Note in the Reading tab. Assignments will be from the Reading Wonders (RW) program, Pixar shorts, and we will start a podcast (link will be provided in One Note page).
  • In Writing, we will be doing author studies which you will find in the Writing tab section in One Note. 
  • In Math, we will complete a culminating Geometry activity. There are two choices; students only need to complete 1 activity due by Thursday.
  • In Science, Monday is a short assessment. Tues.-Thurs. is to create a basic PowerPoint presentation. There is a tutorial on the PowerPoint page in One Note. These assignments can still be found in the Stormy Skies section.

The Checkpoint in One Note is the same as workbook pages 721-722. Students can complete either one. If completed in the workbook, please send a picture of both sides through email or SeeSaw.
  • Science: Stormy Skies Mystery 2 (in Stormy Skies section in One Note)

Finding Assignments on One Note (browser)  

  1. Go to the student section on the washtwpsd.org homepage. In the students section, there will be a link for Microsoft 365 login. 
  2. Look at your child’s login information that was in the envelope sent home on 3/13/20 (passwords are case sensitive). 
  3. Click on the purple icon One Note. 
  4. Click on “Shared with Me” tab  
  5. Click on the file with your teacher’s name. 
  6. On the left sidebar, you should see your child’s name. Click on the name. 
  7. You should see sections for Reading, Math, Writing, and Science. When you click into each section, the work is arranged by Days.  You may need to refresh the page. 
  8. Follow the lesson plan for the assigned “Subject” and “Day.” 
  9. The work you type should automatically save. If using a desktop, you may have to click on “edit notebook” in order to start typing. On the iPad, click “edit in app”


Language Arts  
  • Reading: Each day, there is an article on https://www.readworks.org/  to read and answer questions. The title of the article is listed on the lesson plan for the day. The students need the class code and a password to login. Once the questions are completed, make sure to click the “Submit” button to receive credit.

  • WritingIn One Note (Microsoft 365 Login, see directions above), find the Writing tab. Follow the prompt for the assigned day. 

 

 

Math 

  • In One Note (Microsoft 365 Login, see directions above), find the Math tab. Follow the prompt for the assigned day. In addition to the math prompt, a multiplication practice page or a Study Island assignment will be assignedSee lesson plan for specifics. 
  • Finding assignments on Study Island 
  1. Go to https://app.studyisland.com/cfw/login/ 
  2. Type in your username and password. See attached  
  3. On the left hand side, click “My Classes.” 
  4. Click Math 2019-20, View Assignments. 
  5. Find the Day and click “Start.” 
  6. Click the topic name (for example: Rounding Numbers). 
  7. Complete the Lesson and Practice. Make sure you click Submit. 
  8. You can play Game Mode if you would like. 

 

 

Science

Mystery Science: choose 3 videos from the list provided in One Note. Watch each video and answer the corresponding question.
