I would like to take this time to introduce myself.  I am Mr. Martin, one of the Health and Physical Education teachers at Palmer Middle School.  I have been at Palmer since it opened its doors in 2001.  The 2018- 2019 school year will be my 21st year as a middle school educator.

I grew up In Athens, Ga. where I played high school football, some baseball and threw the shot and disc for our track team.  I am probably one of the biggest Georgia Bulldog fans there is so you will see a lot of Bulldog memorabilia in my classroom and office.

I have three wonderful children - Casey, Kendall and Kate.  Casey is 18 and will be a freshman at the University or Georgia.  My first daughter, Kendall, is 15 and is in the tenth grade.  Kate is the youngest at 10 and is starting fifth grade this year.

I earned my Bachelors degree in Health and Physical Education at Kennesaw State University in 1998. In May of 2005, I returned to Kennesaw State University to earn a Masters degree in School Leadership.

My first teaching job was at Camp Creek Middle School in South Fulton County.  After teaching at Camp Creek for two years, I was given the opportunity to teach in the Cobb County School District at Awtry Middle School.  At the end of the 2000-2001 school, I was asked to join the new staff at Palmer Middle School.  I have been here ever since.

I look forward to getting to know all of you and for an exciting school year.

Mr. Martin
