What Are We Working On?

Science: Students will be able identify the winter animal : snowy owl. Students will be able to discuss the body parts of a snowy owl , & how they help the animal adapt to it's environment.
Math: Students will be able to use a number line to count on to subtract. For example: 10-6, start on 6 and count on to stop on ten . How many jumps did you make from 6 to get to 10?
Writing: Students will be able to review statement sentences. Students will be able to question sentences for example (The girl has a pink coat. Does the girl have a pink coat? Students will be able to write short u words in a sentence.
Reading: Students will be able to segment and blend end consonant words: lamp, gift, send fast, sink etc.
Students will be able to sequence events in a story. Students will be able to identify common/proper nouns. Common noun= store - Proper Noun = Target
Health: Students will be able to recognize the different portions of servings for dairy, fruits, grains, vegetables, and proteins. This week, students will focus on the dairy food group.
Social Studies: Students will be able to identify who Martin Luther King Jr. was. Students will be able to recognize that Dr King's words helped change unfair laws and examine how they can be a leader like Dr. King.
