Welcome to our class, Team 204!

 

          

 

 

My name is Ms. Carmona, and I am excited to be your child’s first-grade teacher for the 2026–2027 school year. We have a wonderful year of learning and growth ahead of us!

 

The opportunity to teach your child is a privilege and a responsibility that I take very seriously. A positive learning experience is built through a cooperative partnership among the parent, child, and teacher. I will do my best to motivate, support, comfort, and appreciate your child and all the unique gifts they will bring to our classroom.

 

Together, we will help your child persevere through challenges, one step at a time. Whether it is ensuring that homework assignments are completed, helping your child study for a test, or simply asking, “What did you learn in school today?” your encouragement and interest make a tremendous difference.

 

I will keep you informed about your child’s learning, classroom activities, and special events throughout the school year. With your support and active involvement, we can make this a successful, productive, and memorable year for every member of Team 204!

School Year Reminders 📚

 

📁 - Blue Communication folders must be checked every night for important notices, assignments, and school information.

 

💻 - Chromebooks - Students should bring their Chromebooks fully charged to school every day. 

 

📖- Daily Reading: Encourage your child to practice reading for at least 15-20 minutes each day. Consider applying for a free library card at the West New York Public Library. Having their own library card encourages students to take ownership of their literacy journey, develop independence, and feel empowered as young readers. 

 

- Google Classroom: Visit my Google Classroom weekly to review assignments, learning objectives, and our weekly academic newsletter. 

 

☎️- Emergency Contacts: Please make sure all emergency contact information is current and accurate, meaning if your phone number, address, or contact information has changed, it must be updated with the main office as soon as possible.
