Meet Mrs. Kandel
My goal as a Kindergarten teacher is to make the school year an adventure filled with academic, social and emotional growth for my students both inside and outside of the classroom!
I was awarded the Governor's Educator of the Year at Moss School in 2020. I earned my master's degree in Early Childhood and Elementary Education from Bank Street Graduate School of Education (located in New York City) in 2002 and a bachelor's degree in English Literature with a concentration in Elementary Mathematics from an Advanced Perspective from Allegheny College in Pennsylvania. After graduate school I taught Kindergarten at two well-regarded NYC public schools: P.S. 290 Manhattan New School and P.S. 183, located in the Upper East Side of Manhattan. Previous to teaching I spent five years as a public relations executive with iVillage.com, an internet company (since acquired by NBC) and Weber Shandwick, a global communications firm.
I have resided in Metuchen since 2001 with my husband, Tyler. We have two daughters who are graduates of Moss School! Natalie is an eighth grader and Sabrina is a sixth grader at Edgar School.
Please feel free to contact me with any questions about your child or what is happening in the classroom. I can be reached via e-mail at firstname.lastname@example.org or telephone at 732-321-8700.
