Dear Students and Parents,

Hi I am Ms. Hope Campbell, welcome to the new 2020-2021 school year and welcome to 6th Grade Social Studies and ELA. I hope your summer was filled with love, great joy and fun activities. Although our class setting will differ from previous years my goal remains the same: to teach with love. I look ahead to partnering with parents and getting to know my new school families. 

A little background information about me: I am a lifelong resident of St. John the Baptist Parish and I walked the great halls of LES many years ago as a student. I am blessed to have one child my one and only Roin. I attended Texas Southern University in Houston, Texas (Go Tigers) and obtained my degree in History. My teaching career started four years ago and every year it keeps getting better. I love teaching! This will be my first year teaching 6th grade Social Studies and I am confident that my students will amaze me, they always do. When I am not in the classroom, I am normally writing. I am a published poet, a songwriter and novelist. So students, don't be stunned when I start singing a song I wrote in class.

My teacher site will be updated daily informing students and parents on daily/weekly agendas. LES teachers will be using Microsoft Teams for class meetings and parental conferences when needed. Remind will be used to communicate all-important class announcements and updates. Microsoft Teams and Remind Apps can both be downloaded to a computer or cellular device. A guide on Distance Learning Resources can be located on LES's website to assist parents and I am here to assist when needed.  

I am ready and supercharged to start this amazing school year. I hope our school experience is filled with lots of learning and laughter. Great things will happen this school year because we are expecting it to! See you in class.
