Welcome to Mrs. Marshall's class website!

2019-2020 School Year

Thank you for sending in any Box Tops collected over the summer! We will continue to collect Box Tops throughout the year. Each Box Top supports our school. Thanks for collecting them!

I will be updating this website throughout the year and will also be sending communication and newsletters through email. Also, be sure to join our class on Remind if you are interested in receiving text message reminders and photos of our class this year through the App. (text @aysiacm to 81010 or see the Remind tab on the left of this website). If you did not get a chance to provide me with your email address and would like important updates from our class throughout the year, please email me at  with your email address and I will add you to my mailing list.

Be sure to check out the AR section for info about Accelerated Reader. Students will read AR books daily at school, and are highly encouraged to read their AR books nightly at home. Students are given an individualized AR point goal each quarter and earn points for passing AR quizzes on the books they read. In order for students to meet their AR goal, they must have an 80% or higher average percent correct and meet their quarterly point goal.

Your child will bring home a W.H.A.L.E. Binder each night. The binder will help your child stay organized throughout the year and will also serve as a communication tool between home and school. Please encourage your child to take care of his or her binder throughout the year and to bring it to school each morning.

Please consider connecting to Renaissance Home Connect to see how your child is doing with AR, and to see all the great books he or she reads throughout the year. For more information, visit the AR page on my class website. A good goal is to read for at least 20 minutes each night (with or without an adult, depending on how well your child reads independently). Also, be sure to check out the AR Weekly Goal Page in your child's W.H.A.L.E. Binder.
