Mr. McCormick's Class
After 12 years working in the newspaper industry, I am in my fourth year as a coach and teacher at Pineville High School. My professional background is writing, and I'm hoping to bring some of my real-world experience into the classroom to assist my students in becoming better writers.
Each year I have added something different to my plate. I taught all English classes my first year. Then I became the sponsor of the school newspaper and added an Intro to Journalism elective class. Last year, I became the sponsor of the school yearbook. This year I am teaching two gifted classes as well as a technical writing class for the first time.
My class schedule for this year is as follows:
1st Hour -- English II Gifted
2nd Hour -- Technical Writing
3rd Hour -- Publications/Yearbook
4th Hour -- Planning
5th Hour -- English I Gifted
6th Hour -- Journalism/Newspaper
7th Hour -- Intro to Journalism
In addition to my teaching duties, I also serve as the sponsor for Club Kid, am an assistant football coach, and handle media relations for sports.
