Here are a few reminders for a safe and healthy school year
-All medications including over the counter cough drops, eye drops, skin creams and others must have a physician’s order and parent permission to use in school.
-If your child injures themselves at home and needs to wear a sling, brace, use crutches or other orthopedic device they need a physician’s order. If they are out or gym I need a physicians’ excuse.
-I cannot treat any injury from home unless we have a physician’s order to do so.
-If your child is going to have an extended hospital stay that you know of please get a note to the nurse. If they are out for a length of time (10 consecutive school days) I can set up home schooling prior to the hospitalization.
-I do screenings which include height, weight, vision, hearing, and blood pressure on every student. If you prefer to take them to the physician instead let me know. I will give you the necessary paperwork to get filled out. This is a State requirement.
_Please keep your child home if they have a fever over 101 or if they are vomiting or have diarrhea. They need to be fever free (without medicine) or not have vomited for 24 hrs to send them back. We are trying to keep the school healthy.
- -We teach all children to cough or sneeze into the corner of their shirt or into a tissue. All children are encouraged to wash their hands frequently.
Please feel free to call or email with any questions or concerns.
