Message From Principal Mayes:
Greetings to the Heart and Soul of Wildcat Country,
We are currently facing an unprecedented challenge in our school system. Each week, we receive new guidance and new directions from the federal, state, and local level regarding the transition of our brick and mortar school into an online virtual experience.
I first congratulate the team for making the transition smooth and accessible to families to the best of our ability. Food service workers literally put their lives on the line to provide nutrition to our students during our school closure.
Our clerical staff and counselors are in constant communication with parents and families to meet their personal and educational needs.
And last but most certainly not least, our teaching staff and instructional assistants are using creative ways to implement instructional practices that hold our students accountable to continued growth and learning.
I want to bring you the very latest information about our next steps as a school to meet our community's needs. After the U.S. Department of Education directs the Louisiana Department of Education on Monday, the Louisiana Department of Education directs the St. John the Baptist Parish School Board on Tuesdays, then the St. John the Baptist Parish School Board directs the principals of the parish on Wednesdays, then the principals of the parish direct the school leadership team on Thursdays, and then the school leadership team directs the school's teachers on Fridays. That's how we make sure you all have the most up to date information and clear next steps.
If you would like to speak to me I will be keeping virtual "office hours" as following on the Zoom internet platform.
