Welcome back! My name is Mrs. Amanda Moken, and I am excited to be one of the Language Arts Academic Support Instruction (ASI) teachers this year!
Throughout the year, I will work closely with your child’s Language Arts teacher to provide additional support and instruction in reading and writing. Using the Fountas & Pinnell Leveled Literacy Intervention (LLI) System, we will strengthen important literacy skills, build confidence, and celebrate each student’s individual growth and progress.
I am proud to have been teaching and coaching in the Sayreville School District for the past 15 years. Literacy has always been a passion of mine, and I am excited to share my love of reading and learning with your child. I have completed extensive professional development in literacy instruction and earned my Master’s Degree in Reading from Saint Peter’s University.
As an educator, my goal is to create a positive and encouraging environment where students feel comfortable taking risks, working through challenges, and recognizing their own growth. Reading is made up of so many important skills, and I look forward to helping each student build upon their strengths while developing greater confidence and independence as a reader and writer.
I truly believe that when school and home work together, we can help students achieve their personal best. I am looking forward to a wonderful year filled with growth, confidence, and a love of learning!
