I am so excited to have your children in my class this year! I am looking forward to a great year with you and your child. I can’t wait to meet all the families.
It is important we work as a team in order to create a community of learners in our very own classroom – a place where all students are motivated to reach their highest learning potential. It is recognized and acknowledged that we are each different in our own individual way – we each learn at different paces, on different levels and share different strengths and weaknesses. Our classroom will be a place where all students feel the freedom to learn.
We will work together to create a safe environment – an environment in which all students feel welcomed and accepted…a quiet place where we can work without any distractions… a comfortable place where all students have the right to speak and share their thoughts and/or feelings without fear of ridicule, as well as, the right to pass…a place where we respect and feel respected. Our classroom will be a place that students feel free to be who they are!
I know that the beginning of a new school year is a very hectic time! You may be a little overwhelmed and confused about what is expected of your fourth grader at this point. Do not worry; I am here to alleviate any concerns that you may have. I strongly believe that it is important for your child to know their teachers and parents are working hand in hand, as it further motivates them to learn. By working together, we will have a fun and successful year as well.
