Suggested Supplies List For

Language Arts Class

The following items are strongly recommended to help ensure the success of your child during the school year.

  • A 5-Subject spiral notebook.

         -  This should be dedicated strictly for your child’s language arts class and NOT shared with other subjects as all five sections will be utilized in this class. If you have the choice, pick up one which is “college ruled”. There are more lines per page, which will ensure your child doesn’t run out of sheets during the year.

  • Pens

         -  Black or Blue only. Red is NOT allowed

         -  While pencils are best suited for calculations in math class, pens are what most writing is done with. For this reason, please provide your child with at least two each day; in case one gets lost, breaks, or runs out of ink.

  • A Hi-Liter.

         -   This will be used primarily in their notebooks, helping them identify key parts of their notes when studying for tests.

  • A composition book

         -   This is the very cheap (usually a dollar or so), very basic notebook we’re all familiar with. It often has a black and white marble-style cover. We will be using it a lot, so if you have your choice in the store, get one with the most pages available (100 or more) as opposed to the thin ones (usually only 60 pages).

  • Two-pocket folder

         -  Don’t spend a lot on this. A simple, basic, two-pocket folder is all your child will need. However, if your child is a sloppy or disorganized person, consider getting one that’s laminated, because they’ll probably destroy one made of simple paper.
