Drawing from the guiding principles of the NCSS C3 Framework, we endeavor to research, investigate, debate and share the study of humanity. Social Studies is the medium through which we develop our sense of purpose, an understanding of our own human triumphs and failures, morality and nature. It is a way to examine our past, as well as determine our civic duty. The United States holds a unique place in the world and through this study we not only examine our roots, but determine our reach.
Goals for Social Studies Students:
Gathering and evaluating primary and secondary sources
Developing claims and using evidence
Construct an argument with reasons
Use listening, consensus-building, and voting procedures to decide and take action in classrooms
