Welcome to Pre-K4

Room 209

Welcome to Pre-k4 at Augusta Preschool!  We are so thrilled to be your child’s teachers and we know this will be an awesome year!  A quick introduction; my name is Ms. McGhee.  Ms. Williams will be working in the classroom with us this year.

For your child’s journey to be successful, it is essential for us to understand that each child is an unique individual with special qualities and needs.  With the support of students and families, we will create a classroom environment that will recognize and respect individuality. To support each student’s learning, we will create a classroom that offers a variety of meaningful teaching styles so that each child will have the opportunity to succeed. The children will grow and learn at their own rate. We invite you to play an active role in your child’s education by talking with your child each day about their learning, reading together every night, and communicating with us.

We want there to be open communication between us.   If at anytime you have a question, We will be happy to talk with you.  Either, write us a note, give us a call, or email me at [email protected] and I will try to respond as soon as possible. We want you to feel well informed throughout the year.  Each day your child will bring home his/her Communication Folder.  Your child’s Communication Folder will contain his/her work for the day, notes, and Home Link. Please check your child’s backpack daily for important letters and notes.  Please return the folder everyday!!!  This can be a hard habit to get started, but well worth it!

Snack

The children will have snack time every day.  Please send in a healthy snack with a juice box and/or small water.  No soda or candy.  PLEASE let us know if your child has any known allergies.

Clothing

Please provide a change of clothing for your child in case he or she has an accident.  PLEASE BE SURE TO LABEL ALL CLOTHING.  The change of clothes should include a shirt, pants, socks, and underwear.

Rest

There is a rest period during the day for 1 hour for all children.  We ask you provide a small blanket and a fitted sheet for resting.  Please send in the washed blanket and sheet to school and it will be sent home on Friday (to be cleaned) and needed back to school on Monday.

Read! Read! Read!  Read with your child as much as possible.  This special time is critical to successful literacy development.
