With the start of this school year, we began our journey with Fountas & Pinnell and Guided Reading. After administering the Benchmark Assessment, your student should have at least two levels; Independent and Instructional.

  • Independent: Students reading an Indenpendent level are able to proficiently and with near-perfect accuracy read and comprehend the text.
  • Instructional: While working one-on-one and in small groups, your student and I will be working at his/her Instructional level. Texts at Instructional levels are more challenging, but not frustrating to your student. Instructional level texts are to be discussed together in small groups or one-on-one with teacher support.

Below are links to descriptions of the book levels, as well as book lists for levels C-M.
