Welcome to the dance department of Cypress Lake Middle School. We are thrilled to welcome new and returning students and parents to what will be an exciting year. In the dance program, you child will be challenged, enlightened and encouraged.
The CLMS dance department is a dynamic program which provides a wide range of opportunities for the students. Students will train in ballet, modern, jazz, tap and tumbling as well as dance history, anatomy, nutrition, and choreography. Students are given the opportunity to perform work that is created especially for them. Through guest teachers and field trips, students are exposed to working with professionals and career options. Collaborating with other teachers and incorporating other disciplines into the curriculum and on the stage will be an enriching experience for our dancers.
It is our goal for the dance program to provide your child with lasting memories and to develop your child’s knowledge, talent, and love for dance.
Parent/ Guardian support and encouragement is the key to the success of any performing arts student. Please show your support and respect for the talent, dedication, and hard work of our wonderful students by attending their performances. You are the audience they first want to please. If possible, consider volunteering to assist with dance events throughout the year. We look forward to working with your child and having a great year in dance at Cypress Lake Middle School.
