Miss Komrowski's 2nd Grade Class
IB World School
Welcome to our classroom website!
Wear your favorite Super Hero shirt day :)
We started Tae Kwon Dae on Mondays and Tuesdays for PE. Check out these karate kids!
With the blink of an eye, first quarter has come and gone! There has been lots of fun and learning in our classroom and I could not be more excited for what our second quarter has in store. Just a few reminders to ensure your students' continued success:
Updated AR sheets have been sent home in our D.O.T. binders. I added a section to the sheet that tells the students and their families their actual points they should strive for each Friday as well as where they are currently. Please take a look at these each week and initial them so I know that they have been seen. As always, Reading for 20 minutes each night is part of our nightly homework. Asking questions about what your student is reading is a great way to check their comprehension!
Report Cards go home tomorrow. Please review your students' first quarter achievements with them. We have set goals for the second quarter in class. This is a great time to discuss those, an action plan to achieve our second quarter goals, as well as any areas of strengths or needs for improvement.
We started Chapter 3 in Math this week which covers fluency in Addition and Subtraction. It would greatly benefit your students to practice their basic Math facts. Lack of fluency with Math facts greatly limits the number of more advanced math problems students can and will do as they progress through school. These Math facts form the building blocks for higher level Math concepts. My goal is to see more memorization and less counting on those little fingers!
I will be sending home a paper copy of our weekly skills summary each week in your child’s DOT binder. Newsletters will go home as needed for important announcements and classroom happenings.
If you have any questions or concerns please email me, write a note in your child’s planner, or leave me a phone message. I look forward to continuing a successful school year!
Remind your student to thrive on challenges and instead of viewing mistakes as failure, view them as a springboard towards growth.
If you have any questions or concerns please email me, write a note in your child’s planner, or leave me a phone message. I look forward to a successful first quarter!
Please do not hesitate to contact me if you have any questions at all. Please check back frequently for important updates!
* Communication Packets go home every Monday. Please make sure to review all the important documents inside. The folder should return with your child to school the next day.
*Please sign our homework planner every night.
