Welcome to Mrs. Richardson’s 6th Social Academics

Hello and welcome! My name is Mrs. Richardson. I am so excited to introduce myself as your teacher! I have high expectations for all of my students and I know we are going to have an amazing year! This year we will work together to become better readers, writers, speakers, and thinkers.

Character Building:

The main goal of my classroom is to create and maintain a healthy environment where EVERY STUDENT CAN BE SUCCESSFUL! This is made possible through having an effective classroom management plan. In addition, we have implemented a school-wide plan called Positive Behavior System, or PBS to encourage PANTHER PRIDE!

Student Success:

To ensure success in my class, students should always bring their personal school planner, pencil, headphones, and chromebooks each day. Students should expect to do a lot of reading, writing, speaking, and thinking in my class. Please be ready to learn, participate, and explore the many ways we will study this year. Your planner is an essential tool that is used daily in the classroom to write important information and to track your behavior as well.

Students are responsible for recording homework assignments in their planner at the beginning of each week.

Students are asked to read for a minimum of 20 minutes each night.

A weekly homework sheet will be sent home on Fridays and should be returned the following Friday.

Make Up Work for Excused Absences:

Students are responsible for completing any work missed during an absence from school. Students will be given as many days as missed plus one (1) day to complete missed work including quizzes and tests. (School Board Policy)  Example: If you miss 3 days you will have 4 days to complete all make up work.
