Homework Expectations

Homework will only be given Monday-Thursday. Reading each night is a requirement. They will be asked to read 20-25 minutes each night. Inside the S.O.S. binder you will find questions to reinforce comprehension before, during and after reading. Math homework will only be given if I deem it necessary and will follow the lesson taught in class that day.

Each child will have a planner provided by the school, additionally I will send home an S.O.S. binder. The purpose of the binder is to encourage your child to plan ahead and stay organized! This is an important skill to have and my goal is to make them as independent as possible this school year.

There are also many free websites that can assist your child at home.

Behavior Managment

We encourage all of our students to follow the 7 Habits of Highly Effective People.

Habit 1: Be Proactive-I'm in charge of me.

Habit 2:Begin with the End in Mind-Have a plan.

Habit 3: Put First things First- Work first, then play.

Habit 4:Think Win-Win-I win, you win, we win.

Habit 5:Seek first to understand, then to be understood-Listen before you talk.

Habit 6:Synergize-Together is better!

Habit 7:Sharpen the Saw-Balance feels best.

We use a school-wide color clip chart to monitor student behavior. Students will begin on green each day and move their clips up or down based on the choices they make.
