Weekly Binders:

 Our class binder contains our class's weekly newsletter, our school planner, the reading unit's sight words ( which should be practiced nightly :] ), your child's homework, and it will be used as a main source of communication. Please sign your child's binder EVERY night. Please feel free to write notes to me or let me know any questions or concerns you may have in the binder.

 

 

 

 

AR Folders:

Will we have AR this year? How can I track my child's progress?

 

We will be participating in Accelerated Reader (AR) this year.

Your Child will have a red folder that will be used to track AR ( Accelerated Reader) goals and achievement throughout each quarter. Every child will be given a point goal to achieve and an expectation that they will maintain an average of 85% on their AR tests. The goals have been individualized to meet each child's needs. Students are asked to read their book at least 2-3 times before taking an AR test. Please fill in your child's book title nightly in the reading log. After your child takes an AR test I will write their score in the reading log, that should be checked and signed nightly. Every Friday I will send your child's AR folder home, at that time you should look at the first page of the folder and you will be able to see if you child is on track for that week. Please sign the front page and return to school on Monday.
