August 2024
Dear Fourth Graders,
Welcome to fourth grade at Stony Brook Elementary! My name is
Mrs. Danieluk and I am delighted to be your teacher this year. I have taught fourth grade at Stony Brook for ten years. Last fall, however, I took a year off to live in Vienna, Austria with my family. I had some amazing experiences, but I am very excited to be back in Hopewell Valley teaching all of you!
Summer is moving quickly, so I hope you are enjoying all of the free time that you have. I have been reading, running, cooking, and traveling to new places. I look forward to hearing about some of the things that you have done. Please start thinking about a souvenir or a picture of yourself that you can bring in on the first day of school. It should represent something that you enjoyed doing this summer. We will share them the first few days of school to help us get to know one another better.
This year, fourth grade is a little bit different than previous years. I will be teaching you reading and writing, and Mrs. Marion (who has a fifth grade homeroom) will be teaching you math and social studies/science. Mrs. Marion is a terrific teacher. You are so lucky!
The first day of school is Tuesday, September 3rd. You need to bring a backpack, a healthy snack, and a lunch (or be prepared to purchase one from the cafeteria). You may also bring a water bottle if you’d like. We have gym the first day, so please bring your sneakers. We provide all the other supplies you need, but if you want to bring a personal pencil case or your own earbuds/earphones, that’s fine too.
I can’t wait to meet all of you on the first day of school! I will also be in our classroom (Room 219) during the Open House on Thursday, August 29th. If you have any questions you’d like to ask, or you want to just say hi and introduce yourself, my email address is [email protected]. Enjoy the rest of the summer, and I will see you soon!
Your teacher,
Mrs. Danieluk 💕
