Dear Students and Parents,August 2018

I hope this note finds you enjoying your summer and preparing for an exciting return to Hopewell Elementary School in September.  This year will be an amazing one as we navigate through Second Grade together. While a detailed letter will be sent home on the first day of school, providing each family with more specific details about our schedule and more, here are just a few items to keep in mind as you prepare for your return.

*Please bring a backpack or totebag to school each and every day - including the 1st day!

*Please bring a lunch or be prepared to purchase lunch on the first day!

*I will provide all of the materials that you will need for our year together.  You don’t need to worry about sending in any supplies. I will have a folder, pencil, crayons, markers and all of your tools that you will used in our time together.

*A small, nutritious snack will be enjoyed each day.  Please come prepared to school with a snack each day.  PLEASE DO NOT SEND IN ANY SNACKS WITH NUTS/PEANUTS/PEANUT BUTTER.  OUR CLASSROOM IS A NUT FREE CLASSROOM.

Parents - If your child is going home on the 1st day of school in a way that is different from their normal routine, please send in a written note informing me of dismissal procedures.

Students - I am very excited to welcome you back and show you our classroom.  I’ve been working very hard in order to get it ready for a wonderful new year of learning.  Look for me out on the blacktop. I’ll be waiting for you with a smile!

Families - please enjoy the last remaining days of summer!  Take some time to relax and rejuvenate yourselves before we head into our 2018 -2019 school year.
