Welcome to Hopewell Elementary SKIP Preschool 2017-2018. My name is Lori DiGaetano and I will be your child’s teacher this year. I am looking forward to a wonderful year of fun and learning with your family. Our staff consists of Mary Giallella, Renee Ranke and Sonia Bandaru, our classroom paraprofessionals, Marci Josephson/speech therapist, Kim Black /O.T. occupational therapist, Holly Kauffman /case manager. Our physical therapist will be named soon.
To make our day run smoothly we need from you:
-A change of clothes marked in a Ziploc bag with your child’s name, (seasonal please!)
-Pull ups/wipes with your child’s name on them, (if needed)
-A backpack that your child is able to manipulate, (practice opening and closing it), and can fit lunchbox/ folders in.
-A lunchbox with your child’s name on it. Please pack a healthy lunch, water/100% juice, fruit, veggies, sandwich, thermos of mac and cheese, pasta, pizza!
-We do a morning snack, as it is a long day. Please send in a brown bag labeled SNACK. Since this is like a “breakfast”, fruit, fish crackers, a cheese stick, cereal, granola bar etc. and a thermos of water/juice to drink would be a great choice.
-A soft blanket for rest as well as a “crib” sheet for our sleep pad. Please put your child’s name on their blanket and send in a large Ziploc bag to keep germs separate!
Our wish list for the classroom consists of:
-Small plastic bathroom cups
-Zip lock bags all sizes, needing gallon the most
-Reward snacks: pretzel sticks, graham crackers, cheerios etc.
You child will enjoy a period of library, music and gym with PEECH, our other preschool class. We have music on Monday, gym on Wednesday and library on Thursday all at 2:30- 2:50.
Please note we will play outside twice a day! Sneakers are best for school. Please check the weather to make sure your child has the appropriate clothing for playtime! As we did during the summer, we will communicate through our notebooks. Please make sure the folder comes in daily. If you need to talk about something, e-mail me, Loridigaetano@hvrsd.org or call me on my cell 609-915-3971. Should you need to speak to a therapist, you can write a note in the notebook or e-mail them using their first/last name @hvrsd.org.
If your child will be out due to illness or other reasons, please call the school at 730-4007 and listen for the extension needed. *If you need to talk to me for an emergency situation, early pick up/late pick up, PLEASE call the office and Joanne will get the message to me right away. I do not check my email during the day! *
