My name is Mrs. Manoilova and I teach General Music and Chorus at A.P.Morris and Calvin Coolidge School. I hold a Bachelor’s degree in classical singing from The State Academy of Sofia, Bulgaria. I worked as a substitute music and general classroom teacher in several Pre-K-5 schools located in Brooklyn, NY. I graduated Hunter College in New York City and received my Master’s degree in Music Education while receiving Alice Minnie Hertz Heniger Scholarship. I had a wonderful teaching experience during my internships at Talent Unlimited High School and Hunter Elementary School located in New York City. Shortly after graduating, I began my first music teaching journey at The Lorge School in New York City. I have been teaching in Hillside since 2008.
During the 2018-2019 school year, our young scholars will go through different music-making experiences by being encouraged to sing, play small percussion and virtual instruments, study famous music artists, and learn how to appreciate music. In our General Music classes, students are exposed to a variety of cultures, musical genres, and time periods. Our young music scholars will feel the power of the music in its true historical and cultural setting.
At Calvin Coolidge, I will soon be recruiting second grade students interested in participating in our winter vocal program.
