Grades for each marking period are based on 3 different aspects:  Assessments (50%) Labs/Projects (40%) and Individual Practice (10%).  Assessments are typically tests and quizzes.  Labs/Projects would include labs and lab activities. Individual practice will be homework most of the time, but it could be something done in class.

Late Work:

The science department has set a policy on late work.  If you have an assignment such as a lab report and it is late, it will be accepted up to 5 days late with a 10% deduction for each day it is late.  Homework is not accepted late and you will receive a zero.  These assignments are typically short and we go over them the day they are due, therefore, no credit is given for late homework (individual practice) assignments.  If there are extenuating circumstances, please see me.  If you are absent, your homework is due the day you come back.
