This year I will be entering my twelfth year teaching Social Studies at Oldmans Township School.
In my "previous" life I worked at Lehigh Press Lithographers in Pennsauken, but the company relocated to Maryland in 2008. Of those great years at Lehigh, twenty were spent running assorted machines, and the last eight years were in supervision. In January of 2009, I went to college for the first time in my life and eventually graduated from Rowan University in May of 2012 with a Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education/History/Political Science. I completed my student teaching at Shady Lane Elementary School in Westville, New Jersey, in December of 2012.
I have two children. Dan graduated from Drexel University. He is living and working in New York City, and is engaged to be married to his fiance Marley in late October of 2024. My daughter, Lianne, also graduated from Rowan University and is entering her tenth year teaching at a charter school in Camden. Lianne and her husband Brian (an accountant) have two sons (Owen -who is five; and Ethan- who is two.)
My wife, Dawn, completed her Master's in Business Administration (MBA) at Rowan University in 2013 and retired in early September of '23. She is a VERY happy retired person. At home, Dawn and I have twin gray cats, Ash and Misty.
In addition to teaching Social Studies I run the Oldmans Chess Clubs, serve as one of Oldmans Township School's Detention Supervisors, and organize the annual 8th Grade Washington, D.C. Trip.
I absolutely love teaching at Oldmans and love teaching Social Studies and Financial Literacy. I try to make it fun and interesting, but my main goal is to prepare our students to be independent and for the added challenges of high school life and life as a citizen of the wider world.
I am looking forward to another great year at Oldmans!
