I am Kathleen Sliman, your LHS Librarian.   This is my 32nd year in the Vernon Parish School systems, and my 19th as librarian at LHS.

In the library, you can check out books to read or to use for research. You may complete assignments at one of our tables. You can also check out  textbooks for your classes. We have 4 computers that are available for you to use to complete classwork. You may also print (black print only) assignments from these computers if you save them in a universal method. Should you need to print in color, we can do that for you too, but you will need to have your work  on a jump drive and I will have to print the document from my computer.

In the library, you can also take care of any problems you may have with your locker. To do so, you will need to fill out the lock/locker problem form that is  available in the library.  As soon as we are able to do so, we will take care of your problem.

ID cards are made in the library at the beginning of the school year. You are required to wear your ID at all time ; should you forget your ID, you will need to purchase a temporary ID sticker  as you  enter the school. During the day, if you need a temporary ID sticker, you will need to get one from Ms. Stokes in the attendance room.  If you lose your ID card, you can have another one made. If you have any other problems with your ID, we can solve them for you  as well.

Please encourage your child to read as often as they can. Reading anything and everything available only makes them a better reader.
