Welcome Back!!! I hope you are all ready and prepared for 8th Grade.  This year WE  will learn some exciting things, WE will face some enormous challenges and WE will overcome some major obstacles.  The wonderful thing  about it  is we will do it ALL TOGETHER.

 

I am Kimberly Shivers and I will be your EXCITING ELA TEACHER. I am a native of Atlanta, Georgia and the mother of two WONDERFUL children, Ivori 21 and Evan 16.  I attended Benjamin E. Mays High School.  I received my Bachelor Degree from Georgia State University.  I hold a Master's Degree and a Educational Specialist Degree in Special Education from University of West Georgia. I am the a member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority Incorporated.

 

I have been at Garrett Middle School for 11 years and I have loved every minute of IT!!!!!

 End of the Year 2016

 Our focus at this  time is on the Georgia Milestone that  will take place in April.  We will continue to work on the skills necessary for the students to be successful on the test they wil take in April. 

In addition, the 8th Grade Team met with the staff from South Cobb High School, in preparation for next year.  They have informed us that is vitable that you as a parent sign up for Parent Vue. This will be how the school communicates to the student their 9th grade schedule and all information regarding pertinent information for next year.  Please stop by the front office and they will handle the sign up for you.  Just bring your identification and we will get you taken care of.
