This year we will be using a colored “clip chart” to monitor our behavior and classroom choices.  I have used this system before in class and find it to be very effective in helping students learn to make good behavior choices at school

Your child will have a clip that they will physically move up or down the chart, depending on their choices.

Every child starts every day on the green “Ready to Learn” section of the chart.  If they are showing good behavior that goes above and beyond what is expected of them, they will get to ‘clip up’ on the chart.  Students being disruptive in class, not completing work, being unkind to classmates, etc. will ‘clip down’ on the chart.

I like this system because if a student starts off with a rough morning, they can improve their behavior during the day and clip back up.

Please keep in mind that your child’s clip may not move every single day.  In order to move up, students must go above and beyond in their behavior choices.

I believe that this system will be a positive way for students to monitor their choices and will give them behavior goals to strive for!
