Welcome To the 2022-2023 School Year

Dear Students,Parents/Guardians,
Welcome to our fifth grade class! I’m excited at the opportunity to get to know you, and I am looking forward to a happy and productive school year. I would be teaching your child Math this year and I am very thrilled.
I have been teaching now for over 20 years so you can rest assure your child is in safe academic hands. Many of the students at Grove Street already known me and know about me so this transition should not be too difficult.
We are doing in-class teaching and students have hard copy books so there are some basic supplies they will need for class every day. Students will need one Math notebook, pencils and colored pencils which is used in Math as they take notes, index cards and gluesticks.
My homework policy is [Monday -Thursdays]. The weekend is used for makeup work and to review skills taught throughout the week.
Students are expected to attend classes every day and must be dressed appropriately for school.
I will send all class code for Google Classroom as your children will have to accept my invite to to login. I will also be using Class Dojo and Google Classroom as the main means of communication so please check these platforms daily.
Studies show that parental involvement in a child’s education is one of the strongest indicators of student achievement. I hope you will make it a priority to help me support your child/children to the best of my ability.
