Mrs. R. Simpkins-Holmes 2020-2021 School Year

 

Welcome to the 2020 -2021 school year at Grove Street Elementary School!  I am the 4th and 5th grade Special Education English Language Arts teacher.  This is my 14th year in the Irvington school district and I am excited to begin this new way of teaching and learning in our virtual classroom!  I have a background in psychology, special education, and Orton Gillingham methods for reading instruction.   

 

I am looking forward to the opportunity of meeting new faces while becoming re-aquainted with others this school year.  When I am not in the classroom, I enjoy spending time with my family, nature walks and shopping.  While this is our new normal, my learning expectations remain the same.

 

Virtual Learning Expectations

 

• Be on Time to ALL 5 classes everyday 

• Pay Attention and Listen to Teacher and Classmates

• Have a Notebook and Pencil everyday by your work station

• Dressed in Uniform everyday

• Sit up in chair and away from distractions

• Eat and use the bathroom before or after class

• Keep camera on and microphone muted 

• DO YOUR BEST THINKING AND BEST WORK!
