What is the VMES Check- Out Policy?
Every child is able to select one book to take home and enjoy. Please encourage your child to enjoy and take care of our library materials and return them for more. Also, please enjoy the library books WITH your child! Reading aloud to kids strengthens children's social, emotional, and character development.
What if a Student Forgets to Return a Book?
Life is busy! Sometimes a student may forget to bring their book to school. Please give them a special place at home to keep their library books and help them remember when their books are due. While there are no fines charged, students may not borrow a new book until the previous book has been returned.
What If A Book Is Damaged?
Accidents happen and books do get worn out. Do not try to fix any book. We use special materials to repair damaged books. Please put a note in the book when it is returned and we will take care of it.
What Happens If a Book Gets Lost?
If a book is lost or severely damaged the family is asked to pay the replacement cost of that book. A notice will be sent home with the student.
