Welcome to the 2024-2025 school year.

I graduated from Villanova University with a BS degree in Computer Science.  I was a Senior Programmer/Project Manager for IBM for 10 years, before becoming a teacher.  I have taught computers for the Ocean County Vocational Technical Schools and mathematics with the Marine Academy of Technology and Environmental Science (MATES).  This is my nineteenth year here at BTHS and I love teaching Computer Science!  I am on the Computer Science Advisory Board for Villanova University, I am an active member of the Computer Science Teachers Association of NJ (CSTANJ) and a member of CSNJ, which is an advocacy group for the State of NJ to promote Computer Science in NJ schools and make Computer Science count towards graduation credits.
 
BTHS currently offers five computer science courses: Exploring Computer Science,
Java: Computer Programming, Additional Topics In Computer Programming, Computer Programming for Engineers (STEM) and Advanced Placement Computer Science.  This is a technology driven world and programming is a valuable skill no matter what field a student wants to pursue.  Any student who plans to go into computers, mathematics, engineering or any of the sciences when they graduate, should definitely take a programming course in high school.  Students who wish to take AP Computer Science must take Java: Computer Programming by their junior year.
 
I am the advisor of the Computer Club and the Brick Township Computer Science Honor Society.  The Conputer Club is for any student who enjoys computers and wants to do community service.  We currently run Senior Citizen Computer Workshops to help the seniors with their computer questions.
