"If a Student Can't Learn the Way We Teach, We Should Teach the Way They Learn"- Ignacio Estrada

 

The WBL Program is designed to assist high school students with special needs in training, skill development and independence in the work force. Students are typically placed at either school or community worksites, for one or multiple blocks, per semester. 

 Students will receive on the job support through coaching and workplace accomodations provided by the work-site mentor, job coach and/or WBL Coordinator. In WBL, students will have the opportunity to participate in bi-weekly work readiness skills groups. The WBL Coordinator will develop an individualized training plan that will implement goals and objectives alligned with the NJCCCS. At the conclusion of this experience, students will have the opportunity to create a resume' and will be awarded five credits for each semester completed. Students must be 16 years old to take this course, per NJDOE.
