 Mathematics

 Mrs. Scasny

Welcome to a new and exciting year of Mathematics! My name is Ms. Poggiali, and I am the 8th Grade, mathematics teacher. I am looking forward to the beginning of a successful school year and I hope that you are too! This year we will be building on our computational math skills and our problem-solving skills.

Social Studies
 Mr. Ives

Welcome to another exciting school year! This year will be focused on research in preparation for National History Day.  We will also be exploring various eras in the world, such as the Middle Ages in Europe, the construction of empires in China and Japan, and how we can connect this past with our present time.

Science

 Mr. Hall

Welcome All Junior Scientists

Science is a way of exploring and most importantly a process for gaining knowledge. This is opening one's eyes and understanding the world in which we exist. The class will place an emphasis on understanding and using skills.

You should be active learners in my class. I feel it is not enough for you to read about science; you must be active with science. You should observe, question, ponder and test hypotheses, analyze data, report, and evaluate your data. You will be asked to not only do science but also use such things as art, English, math, and all the other subjects you study each day in your science class. This should be a hands-on, active, and challenging experience.
