4th Grade Social Studies

Social Studies for Fourth grade introduces the students to the geography of our wonderful country and the Garden State, the events that shaped our country and our state and how our government developed. 

This year the students will concentrate on the following units:

1. Geography, People and the Environment.

2. History, Culture, and Perspectives.

3. Civics, Government, and Human Rights.

4. Economics, Innovation and Technology.

The 50 States:

All students should be familiar with the states as we study the colonization of our country. Throughout the year students will be introduced to study strategies that will help them learn the locations of the states. Gradually, the students should learn the names of the states and where they are located on the map.
