6th Grade Social Studies

Social Studies is extremely exciting for the sixth grade. For the first time these students will not be studying the history that has happened right outside of their door, but instead, they will be looking at the history of the World.

By the end of sixth grade, these students will be able to:

1. Discuss how geography affected the early people.

2. Trace the development culture of the early societies.

3. Analyze the agricultural revolution and its influence on the development of civilization.

4. Identify the civilizations of the Ancient World.

Countries of the World:

All students should be familiar with the modern countries that developed from the ancient civilizations. Throughout the year, students need to know the names of the countries and where they are located on the map.
