Math Fact Fluency:

What Number Do You See? -This activity tests your ability to recognize various numbers represented by ten-frames. By doing so, it ultimately helps students with their ability to work with numbers when trying to make ten!  Be sure to try the "Multiple Tens Frames" activity.  It's a really good one for the brain!

Butterfly Ten Frames Game -This activity is an excellent one to help strengthen your ability to recognize pairs of numbers that make ten.  See how well you can determine how many butterflies flew away and how many butterflies are left.

Number Bubble Skip Counting -This activity gives you plenty of practice skip counting by various numbers..

Adding & Subtracting Within 5 -This is a good activity to get you started on adding and subtracting numbers that are 5 or smaller.

Adding & Subtracting Larger Numbers -This activity gives you good practice with adding and subtracting numbers up to 20.

Mad Math Minute Doubles -Becoming a master of addition requires that you have mastered your doubles!  This is a great activity that gives you plenty of practice in working with your doubles

Dinosaur Dentist -Once you have mastered your doubles, solving addition problems with near doubles should be easy.  This is a fun activity that gives you plenty of practice working with near doubles.  Look at the dinosaur's teeth. Think of the double.  Remove one tooth, and find the near double!

Balancing Addition Equations -See if you can determine what number will make each addition equation balanced.

Mr. Martini's Addition Fill Flash Cards -Mr. Martini's flash cards are some of the best online flash cards out there!  See if you can type in the correct missing number for each addition sentence.  When you type in the correct number, the math sentence will turn a different color.

What Number is Missing?  -See if you can use your detective math skills to determine what number is missing from each hundreds chart.

Modeling Word Problems:

Thinking Blocks Modeling of Addition & Subtraction Word Problems -Using bar diagrams to model word problems is an excellent strategy to use when solving word problems.

The Dreambox Learning website is a really cool way of using arrays to think about what multiplication is when doing a 2-Digit by a 2-Digit multiplication problem.

Comparing & Ordering Fractions:

-This is a good place to start when working on the skill of comparing fractions.  See if you can pop the balloons in order from the smallest fraction to the largest fraction.

A More Advanced lesson on Comparing & Ordering Fractions-This goes a bit farther that what we learn in 3rd grade on comparing & ordering fractions, but cool nonetheless!  Be sure to turn your computer's sound on for this informative lesson!
