A little bit of information about me, Kelli Holleran:

I was born in Oklahoma and I lived there until high school.  At that time, I moved to New Jersey.  I will share a lot of stories with your children about my early life in Oklahoma.  I still have family there, and it is a special place to me.

I attended Monmouth University and graduated with a B.S. degree in Special Education / Elementary Education.

Teaching is a loved profession in my family.  My father is a retired teacher, my two sisters are teachers, and my husband is also a teacher.

This new school year, 2019-2020 will be my 21st year of teaching.  That is hard for me to believe!.  I have loved each year and all of my students.  My love of teaching 4th graders grows each school year.  I like to change things up in our room each year.  I am always trying new strategies and finding ways to enhance our learning environment to make learning as much fun and meaningful as possible.  From the first day of school, I will work to help each child feel comfortable in our classroom.

Coaching is another big part of my life.  I am also the head girls cross country, winter and spring track & field coach at Metuchen High School.  I enjoy helping our girls understand the importance of setting goals and working hard to meet those goals.  Nothing is more rewarding than our athletes improving directly because of their hard work.

In addition to coaching, I also enjoy bird watching, reading, running, gardening, and spending time with my family.

Metuchen is a wonderful community.  I have met so many wonderful families in my years here.  I consider myself very lucky to work in such a supportive and caring place!

I strongly believe that our students will be most successful in school and life with support from both home and school.  So, I will work to have a close relationship with our families.
