If your speech has been approved, keep practicing. Remember to smile, read with expression, and make eye contact. Decide what you will wear as your costume. Be creative and use what you have around the house. There is no need to buy a costume. If you are having trouble putting together a costume, you can just wear a collared shirt, dress, etc.
If your speech has not yet been approved, please finish and submit as soon as possible.
I will send directions later in the week about how to record and send speeches to me.

        SCIENCE
        1. This week we will continue working on an Endangered Animal Zoo Habitat Project. Students will need one cardboard box (a shoebox would be best) to use as the base for their diorama as well as construction paper, glue sticks, scissors, colored pencils, and other materials available at home. This project is encouraging students to research and find ways to protect animals around the world. I hope to show students that this is not just a project, but that we can actually make a difference in the world. There are many organizations that accept donations to “adopt” an endangered animal. I hope we can adopt one of these animals as a virtual class pet. If you are able to donate to our class toward this initiative, we hopefully can adopt 1-2 animals. The link to the adoption site is listed below. As a class, we will select an animal to adopt. If you would like to donate, you can send donations via Venmo @Danielle-Weitzner.
Students may work independently or with a partner using Zoom or another video conferencing platform to communicate and work. Coordinating communication will be the responsibility of the parents and students. While students may work together, they should each complete their own copies of the documents as well as the diorama.
I look forward to seeing the students work!
